the search is underway for the perfect site for our pilot community, currently focusing in on newham, hackney and tower hamlets
the east end of london is the ideal area for our first homefolk community. as a centuries old hub for new arrivals to the capital, likewise we see how homefolk can bring our new skills and facets to london
nowhere else in the capital has felt gentrification quite like the east end, with community pushed out in place of profit and soulless corporate 'development'. what better place to showcase a big idea in housing, in such a dense urban environment.
we aim to show if we can do it here, we can do it anywhere
in ongoing conversation with our tinyhome builders, we are aiming to have our community set up in 2023/24
currently our timeline line is adjusted so that construction will begin at our tinyhome builders site approximately ten months before we begin to piece everything together on our final site
in the meanwhile we are working on the supporting legal model, documents and architectural redesign necessary to make our housing project a success.
finally, we will begin the dazzlingly quick two month set up of our village from zero to finished
funding: our current goal is to raise awareness of our project as well as funds that will help us in our journey
we want to get homefolk off the ground and available to more people as soon as possible. if we can sufficiently cover our pilot site to the point where we can demonstrate the goal of ownership and ultimately the freedom this entails, we'll have the best launch pad we possibly can for continuing to bring homefolk spaces to more people - see our financial transparency website page for more details
